DIY Plaid Patch Inspired by Disney-Pixar's Brave!

Nothing says winter-wear staples quite like a rich plaid print.  Seen on the runways at Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and Dries van Noten, the classic pattern has become synonymous with cold weather days, making it one of the must-have trends as of late.  In fact, the comfy ski lodge attire has become such a relevant code of dress that even the movie stars are embracing this oldie but goodie this season.  And of course, by movie stars we mean our favorite Scottish heroine Merida of Disney Pixar’s “Brave!”  The red-haired adventurer who first had us gushing for redheads earlier this summer, is on our radar again this month, this time to inspire our sartorial sensibility.  After testing out butter LONDON’s custom Scottish Tartan nail art design inspired by Merida’s hometown style, we’ve decided to step up our style game this week by incorporating the pattern into one of our favorite closet staples: the cozy sweater!  With the help of DIY expert Erica Domesek of P.S. — I made this…, we’re learning how to make our own “Brave” tartan-inspired elbow patch cardigans to get us started on this graphic trend.  Check out Erica’s easy how-to video below to get started one of this season’s boldest trends!
